In May of 2016, I became a right below the knee amputee. I had an ingrown toenail, which turned into gangrene, resulting in the need for amputation.
I had seen a prosthetist prior to my amputation from another company and I reached out to them after my amputation and did not receive a call back. Around this time I had heard about Bremer Prosthetics from my son’s friend and he had nothing but good things to say!
In addition, while in the healing process, I had a random stranger come up to me at the store and he asked me where I was going for my prosthesis. I let him know I was in the process of doing research and trying to find the best place to go.
This is when he started talking about Bremer Prosthetics and talked very highly of them. For someone to go out of their way to stop me and tell me about their experience really helped confirm what I had heard from my son’s friend.
I am so glad I listened to their recommendation because I honestly could not agree more with what they told me. I absolutely love it at Bremer. The whole team is wonderful. I continue to learn from them every appointment and they are always there to answer any of my questions.
They give you phenomenal care and an in-depth explanation to go with it. They have taught me things about getting back on my feet that I did not even hear from my physical therapist. They are honest and let you know exactly what to expect throughout the whole process.
Everyone on the team is so positive and uplifting and continues to boost my confidence. I thought losing my leg would be a devastating process, and I thought I would be told that I could not do a lot of the things I always enjoyed and my experience has been the exact opposite of what I had in mind.
I have not once been told I won’t be able to do something. They have a can-do attitude and strive to help me reach my goals.
I am so thankful for the team at Bremer for getting me back on my feet. I am back to attending church, visiting family, going out to eat, and enjoying my time getting out and about. I am so thankful to be living a normal life and know I would not be where I am today if I had not chosen Bremer Prosthetics.
