Nathan Kapa, CP

Nate is a graduate of Northwestern University’s prosthetic program, and Michigan Technological University with a Biomedical Engineering degree.

He began working with Bremer Prosthetic Design in 2003, assisting with clinical and technical work to gain a solid foundation in prosthetic technology and fitting principles before completing his education. Nate has been designing custom, state-of-the-art prosthetics since completing his residency in 2007 and has been a Certified Prosthetist since 2008. In 2009, Nate became a partner in Bremer Prosthetic Design. He is now the majority owner of Bremer Prosthetic Design, Inc. in Flint, MI and a Consulting Prosthetist for Bremer Prosthetics, LLC in Saginaw.

  • Nate began serving on the Michigan Orthotics and Prosthetics Association Board of Directors in 2011. After 3 year of serving as Vice President and Educational Chair, he was elected President in 2016.
  • Nate is on the Board of Directors for the Coalition for the Protection of Auto No-Fault.
  • Nate is passionate about advocating for the rights of people who have suffered the loss of a limb.
  • He plans to continue to use his training and technical background to provide the highest level of patient care possible.
  • When he is not working, he enjoys spending time with his family, sports, hunting, fishing, playing guitar and outdoor activities.

Scott Baranek, CP

In 1994 Scott was introduced to the world of prosthetics when he lost his left leg below the knee as the result of a motorcycle accident.

Scott received his credentials as a Certified Prosthetist from both the BOC and ABC certification boards. He received his prosthetic certification from the Board of Certification (BOC) in 1999 and later received his certification from the American Board (ABC) in 2004.

After losing his limb, Scott was told that he would have to travel to southern Michigan if he was to receive the highest quality prosthetic care. Knowing this information, Scott chose to dedicate his career to providing high end prosthetic care and creating resources which improve ambulatory rehabilitation for amputees in the Tri-City community.

  • Served on the Board of Certification (BOC) underwriters committee from 2005 to 2009 as well as the BOC board of directors from 2008 to 2012.
  • Founding board member when Michigan Sports Unlimited was founded in 2001 and he served as president from 2007 to 2010.
  • Co-founded the Thunder in the Valley Games.

Scott bought the Bremer Prosthetics, LLC Saginaw office in August of 2015. He is proud to serve the amputee community in the Tri-City Community where he was born and raised. He is committed to providing the best quality prosthetic care to the community in which he serves.

Brian Bott, CP

Brian began working at Bremer Prosthetics in 2011 while he attended Saginaw Valley State University.

  • He graduated from SVSU with his degree in Athletic Training which allowed him to work with injured athletes in healing and rehabilitation.
  • He continued to work at Bremer Prosthetics learning and assisting in clinical and technical work to gain experience in the field of prosthetics before continuing his education.
  • Brian graduated from Northwestern University’s inaugural Master’s program in March of 2015 with his Master’s Degree in Prosthetics and Orthotics.
  • Brian completed his residency at Bremer Prosthetic Design before earning his Certification in January of 2017.
  • Brian decided to go into prosthetics due to his passion for patient care and helping individuals get back to their lives after injury.
  • He enjoys bringing joy back to individuals who have experienced limb loss and helping them work to achieve their goals with their custom fit prostheses.
  • When he isn’t working, Brian enjoys spending time with his family and participating in outdoor activities including hunting and camping.

Kris Wise, CPA

After losing his leg above the knee in 1986 following a motorcycle accident, Kris began working in the field in 1999.


  • Kris started at Bremer Prosthetics in 2008, and is a certified prosthetic assistant.
  • He is passionate about fitting and fabricating transfemoral prostheses and as a user has experience and expertise.
  • Kris is an avid snowmobiler, boater and enjoys hunting and camping.
  • He now provides patient care and performs technical duties including:
    • Fabricating
    • Repairing
    • Adjusting Prostheses
